Located in the Flint Hills near Manhattan, this lake is host to 12,200 acres of wildlife habitat. The state park associated with Tuttle Creek Lake offers many activities for sportsmen, families and groups. The 1,200 acre state park is home to 159 water and electric campsites, 8 water, electric and sewer sites, 24 electric-only campsites, 7 campsites with electricity and community water as well as 500 primitive sites. Seven cabins with a full kitchen, dining table, full bathroom, heat, air conditioning, covered patio, picnic tables, grill and fire ring can be reserved if you prefer not to rough it. Cabin users must bring their own bedding, towels, dish cloths, hot pads, toiletries and food. A horse camp is available so you can bring your horses on your vacation. An amphitheatre, shooting range, star gazing building, marina, and fish cleaning station are available, scattered throughout the different campgrounds. A disc golf course with 18 holes, playgrounds, canoe rentals, shower houses and many shelters that are open to reservation are available for your enjoyment.
TrailsFor horse campers, Tuttle Creek Lake in Kansas is home to the Randolph Equestrian Trail, which offers 13 miles of scenic beauty. It is also open to hikers. The Fancy Creek Mountain Bike Trail is designed for hikers and mountain bikers. The trail goes up and down many hills through forest and grasslands.Rocky outcroppings and ridges offer challenges along the six mile trail. The Cedar Ridge Trail offers a short, three-quarters of a mile hiking trail that meanders through the forest and tallgrass prairie. The Cottonwood trail is only half a mile long, but it offers hikers incredible viewing opportunities for local plants and wildlife. FishingAnglers will appreciate the variety of fishing available at Tuttle Creek Lake in Kansas. With several varieties of catfish, bass, walleye, trout, sunfish, crappie, bluegill and saugeye to catch, fishermen are kept busy from sun up to sundown.
