Fall River Crappie

Fall River Crappie

The picture above says it all, there is nothing better in this world then fishing with your kids. My daughter caught this crappie in Badger creek. The fishing was slow in the creek, as they were letting water out of the lake. The reports we got from other fisherman, was that fishing was good in the creek before they let the water out. Friday night brought rain which made it too muddy to launch at the Ladd bridge ramp on Saturday morning. We opted to try the dam area, with little luck.

Saturday afternoon we ventured to Toronto lake and up on the river, just to see what was going on. Reports were that the crappie were in the brush and fishing was good. Some anglers reported catching 30 and up nice slab crappie. They were also letting water out at Toronto.

Later we got the same type of reports for Fall river, that the crappie were biting good Saturday afternoon around Otter creek. Still in the brush and nice size crappie. We hope to get out next weekend if the weather cooperates.
